My Closet is shrinking with me!

So I’m sitting here having a “moment”. A lot of my Weight Loss Surgery friends over at Thinner Times call them “Wow Moments” – moments that your eyes sort of bulge out of your head and go real wide and your mouth gapes open and you are just in shock.

In August of 2009 Jason and I moved out of the house we were renting and moved back into an apartment. At the time I weighed around 400lbs and 80% of my closet didn’t fit me anymore. We were consolidating, and we had decided to get rid of a lot of stuff that we weren’t going to have room for anymore and I decided to part with most of my skinner clothes convinced I’d never wear them again. (Boy I wish I’d kept all those jeans now but c’est la vie.)

What I did keep was a vacuumed storage size bag full of some of my favorites just in case I ever lost weight again maybe I could fit into them again someday. Most of it was stuff I’d bought form Torrid. Some of it was skirts that had never even had the tags removed.

Today I decided to pull that bag out in search of some smaller pants. I did find a pair of jeans in there that are a size 24 – Score! I’ll be wearing these jeans constantly until they don’t fit anymore since I’ve already under grown my size 32’s, my size 28’s and my size 26’s- Well I can still wear the 26’s with a belt to hold them up!

The stupid thing about womens clothes is that it’s so inconsistent. I could go try on a pair of size 26 jeans in one store and not be able to pull them up past my thighs, try on a different pair in another store and they are falling off of me.

I had to toss most of the stuff that was in that storage bag – all too big. I saved the skirts, vowing to wear them at least once, because they are already pretty baggy.  I did score a bunch of t-shirts that are actually still a little snug. I seem to be losing weight on the bottom faster than the top, of course that would be the case because where I WANT to lose it is up top! LOL. Why do we always get the exact opposite of what we want?

Tomorrow is my next post op appointment with the surgeon. Going to talk to her about that pain in my chest that I get sometimes and that means I’ll be visiting the scale tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s nice to me. Tomorrow will officially be 11 weeks since I had my surgery. It seems like it has been longer, but really, it’s only been a couple of months. I have to keep reminding myself of that.

Okay time to hit the gym for my swim and get some sleep before I meet with my Trainer Suzie tomorrow morning and let her abuse me some more.
