Okay so first let me say that you will learn to expect this sort of random, spontaneous spur of the moment behavior from me. I randomly decide to do things, often against the better judgment of others, just because I feel it is the right thing to do. This is one of those times.
So first let me put this Disclaimer up here: THIS IS NOT A BRAND NEW IPOD TOUCH!
The IPod Touch 4th Generation 64G that I am giving away is USED; it has been loved on by me quite frequently for the last two years. There is however, nothing wrong with it.
There is in fact a very special story surrounding this IPod:
Two years ago I was rushing out the door to a doctor’s appointment with my gym bag in hand so I could head there after and I heard something drop. I couldn’t see anything on the ground and I was running late so I left. Later I pulled back into the driveway and I had my window rolled down and heard something crunch under my tire… Oh vey it was my IPod. After hearing what had happened and knowing how important music was to my exercise, the two women that I have the most amazing privilege of calling my best friends decided to contact a bunch of our friends online and see if they could rattle together the funds to buy me a new IPod. Sure enough they did, and for my birthday they gifted me with a 4th Generation IPod Touch. Our friends at the time were all playing a RPG Roleplaying/Combat game in Second Life at the time and my Character was a Vampire so the engraving on the back reads, “For Our –Vampire Queen- Happy Birthday! – The Coven” – which was the name of our little group. I was truly touched that so many people cared about me that they got together and got me this present, and they’ve shared my journey and their support with me via that IPod for just over two years now.
For my Birthday this year I was given an IPhone 5. It was one of the Items on my “Things I need for my new Business” list and I have been blessed with some people that are always there to support me and most of my birthday presents this year came off that list. Jason purchased the IPhone 5 for me, Tom put $250 towards my ACE Certification Fund and my Soul Sister, Debby and her husband Colin put $100 towards my ACE Certification Fund. Thank you all, for loving me and supporting me, you are amazing people. So far I’ve got $350/$800 I need for the Certification, so I’m getting there slowly but surely. \O/
But since I got an IPhone 5 for my birthday, it has sort of made this very special IPod unnecessary, and rather than just have it sitting around collecting dust on my shelf I’ve decided that to celebrate my two year Surgiversary on October 19th, I’m going to give it away.
Now I have been told this is cheesy, and that re-gifting is lame, but, I believe it is a kind gesture and that if someone else can use this IPod to help motivate them in the gym with music or it helps someone post-surgery out with keeping track of their protein because they can now use a program like Daily Burn over their Wi-Fi at home, well, then I just really think it should.
So IF you ARE Offended by my Re-Gifting this for the Motivational Benefit of someone else, well, don’t sign up for the Giveaway and please remember if you don’t have something nice to say; sometimes it’s best not to say something. That said, if you want to enter, here’s how you do it…

I liked you on Facebook 🙂
Amazing weight loss journey what an inspiration.
I liked you on facebook. I think what you are doing is great. This journey is hard. I know because my friends and family are against this surgery. So for me music is a good way to escape all of the pressures they give me to forget about surgery. It would be great to be able to take my music and walk away when the situation calls for it.
Now following on Twitter!!! You’re an absolute inspiration!
This is a fabulous idea and very generous to boot – thanks for thinking of those who need motivation on this difficult journey!
I’ve been wanting one of these. Could really use it. Your Facebook is pretty neat!
I would love this to work out to!
I could really use this. My kids and hubby have one but I don’t. I wished I liked their music so I could borrow their’s, but alas I don’t. I had my surgery on September 24, so am a newbie. I also saw this post on TT. Thanks for the consideration.
You definitely caught my attention with the regifting idea – which is a fabulous idea! I liked you on FB to enter this contest, but then I watched a couple of your videos on Youtube. It sounds like you had a crazy making childhood. You’re not alone there. My childhood was horrific at best. I’ve battled my weight for a very long time and thought I had hit on something when I started a diet that cut out processed foods. I was losing some weight, looking and feeling a bit better. I was just getting on the roll of it when my son was hit by a car while he was rollerblading and died instantly. It’s very weird how death hits everyone in a different way. I lost all willpower and just assumed that I would always be overweight and I truly didn’t care. It took me 2 years before I decided to have gastric bypass surgery. I’ve lost 70 pounds since that decision, 50 pounds since the actual surgery. I feel as though I have a special cheerleader in heaven watching over me. Sometimes that spurs me on.
I empathize with your struggles and loss, and I wish you the very best from here on out!!!
Thanks for the videos and the honesty!
Robin thank you so much for coming in and sharing your story and experience. I feel a very special connection with others who lose someone during their weight loss journey. The weight loss journey as it is is such an emotional thing, and losing someone like a parent or a child is so devastating and life changing that handling them both at once … there were days I literally laid their in bed reminding myself to breath. There were so many moments that nobody knew what to say to me or how to help me. I’ve never felt as alone in my entire life as I felt during that part of my life and that part of my journey. Your words here are just more inspiration to me to follow my dreams and become someone who can help others like you and I get through their journey a little easier. Thank you so much for sharing Robin, and good luck in your weight loss journey, I’ll be cheering you on.
Thank you again for doing this. I have never had an ipod and after reading your story I can see where it would really help keep motivated when exercising. I liked you on FB. I am working towards having my surgery. I have to have 6 supervised doctor visits and am half way through them. I had my psychiatric evaluation and passed it. I am now waiting for the insurance referral to do the psychiatric test. I also have to have a stress test so with fingers crossed I will be done with everything in January and will be able to have my surgery the end of January or in February. I know it will not be an easy. I have struggles with weight all of my life and have been on every diet there is. There are many times I wanted to just give up. I have learned if I do not take care of myself no one else will. I lost someone because of a stroke who was overweight and I do not want to die that way. So that is why I am taking this journey. There is a gym about 15 miles from where we live that I can go to for very reduced rates so I am looking forward to going there when I can drive and lose, lose, lose. If I am lucky enough to win the ipod it will be going with me to help me with my journey. Thanks again so much for doing this.
I liked your FB page. I think it is wonderful you are giving your well loved ipod to one of your lucky readers. If I was lucky enough to win your ipod I would use it on my daily walk to listen to podcasts and music. I would also start tracking my calorie intake via one of the apps available. Thanks for the opportunity to win your special ipod. You story is very inspirational to me, I am glad I found your site. kindofabigdeal999[at]hotmail.com

BTW… I would use the Ipod (if I was lucky enough to win) to play motivating music while I am walking on the treadmill. I love listening to my girl diva singers belting it out while pushing myself to go a bit farther everyday.

Just read your #pleasePickMe post and I was very inspired by your spirit to go after your dreams.
thanks!
My mp3 player had an untimely death after I was a nice Mom and loaned it to my son to take to school one day when his was dead. It came home with a chunk out of the screen. He dropped it in the driveway and it must have hit a rock just right and now it is a goner. I would love to have your special one as my replacement.

Hi,
I have enjoyed reading your blog and have been imagining it being me in a couple of months. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. It helps give me an idea of what I will be going through. I have 3 more doctor supervised weigh ins, a stress test and finish my psychology testing. I had the interview and passed and now have to do the written test. I am hoping to have surgery the end of January or February. I have found out our insurance changes April 1st, 2013 so I am hoping to get it done before that happens. The insurance we are going to is a lot worse than what we have now and the new one is going to be a lot more expensive. Your IPod would be a big help for me to stay focused on losing weight once I have the surgery. I have never had one, I do not even have a cell phone, but from what I have seen about them it would be very helpful to keep me motivated.
Thanks.

Pandora I could sure use an Ipod I cannot afford one… I don’t even have a cell phone for that reason. People look at me like I am crazy! It would help me a lot with getting into walking and workout apps. I wound even be able to do Weight Watchers where ever I am. And talk about being able to call someone while I am lost would be nice… I did the Color Run for the first time at the PDX this last week and got really behind my group it would have been nice to call one of them to find out just how far behind I really was. But I did make it to the end. So far I am down 85 pounds and have another 75 to go. Please pick this old lady so she can get with it…
Hey Sue. I am sorry you thought this contest was still happening.
Now I just sort of want another Ipod to give away LOL
