I'm getting a bit nervous. Today is my second day home and I'm a bit scared about the amount of liquids I can drink. It seems like ALOT to me. I am on full liquids and supposed to be trying to get 50-60 grams of protein per day. It’s my last day in the hospital and I’m ready to go home. I feel amazing; my nurses last night Tammy and Kristen were absolutely the most amazing nurses I have had during my stay in the hospital. Last night wasn’t so great; the nurse on duty told me I was doing really well with my fluids and that I could go ahead and drink those two ounces of Loritab she brought in. That stuff tastes horrible, I asked for something to wash the taste down and drank a little water and instantly threw up. Obviously I shouldn’t have drunk that Loritab that fast. [...]
It’s about 7:30 in the morning and the Transporters come to get me to take me down to radiology for my swallow test. I’m giggling all the way as I think of these guys as the Transporters and I keep having little visions of that movie with that foreign guy that kicks everybody’s butt. I got approved to send to the Surgeon on the 8th of September and they called me and set up an appointment for the 13th and I was so excited because I thought, wow that was quick.
