WineDinePrepC210KThis coming Monday the 18th starts our couch 2 10k virtual training event for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. We’re calling it #WineDineC210kPrep

Day one consists of 3 training options a walk, an It’s All Heart work out or Cross Training. Cross training means that you are training in a different mode of cardiovascular exercise. This could be anything from an elliptical or a recumbent bike to a class at your gym that mixes strength and conditioning with aerobic exercise.

We’ve chosen It’s All Heart as our training option for just that reason, it’s a great program with strength and resistance and aerobics all in one place.

This is a $30.00 Discount from the normal price of $89.99 and the kit includes; Four DVDs, Fitness Journal, an Exercise Ball, Pump, and Three Sets of Resistance Bands; you’ll have everything you need to do get started delivered right to your door!

If you choose walking the distance I would recommend not be any farther than our Saturday distance, so for the first week no farther than 2 miles.

Day two will be just a 20 minute run/jog. If you are just starting out I recommend running or jogging intervals of 30 seconds on and 45 seconds off. This means that for 20 minutes you attempt to run for 30 seconds and walk for 45 seconds. You can of course increase these intervals depending on your current cardiovascular fitness levels.

Day three another day of your choice between walking, an It’s All Heart workout or cross training.

Day four takes us back to another 20 minute run/jog using the same interval times as Day 2.

Day five is your choice again! And day six is our long day. Every Saturday consists of a longer, walk/jog/run, our first being 2 miles! You’ll want to try to keep those interval times you were doing for 20 minutes during this 2 miles. I can’t wait to hear how you do!

Every third week the length of our run days increases. This training program will take you from the couch to a 10k in 13 weeks with varying degrees of difficulty building up your endurance to end in a 10k!
